Stopped working!!!

It has suddenly stopped working with my tx-nr616... After reading other recent reviews Im not alone... Please fix!!!

As with other posts, lastest release caused loss of connectivity. Very disappointed. Please fix

False Advertising

Hey Onkyo, quit advertising this app to assist selling your equipment. I purchased a TX-NR636 and has probably connected 3 out of 102 times Ive tried. Get a clue and read your reviews to fix the problem

Fix this app.. Connects, doesnt connect, crashes, cannot find receiver, etc.. I bet an intern could tune this up. I have been an Onkyo customer for decades but you seem to be going the way of the Blackberry. Pay attention to your customers.

Stopped working after recent updates.

Remote tended to work well but stopped after recent updates. Will not connect to my TX-NR636 any more. Please fix. In my line of work this would of been considered a failed change.

Useless to me

Loved all the features and setup was fairly simple. Setting up and using zone 2 took a little while. Everything was working great then I wanted to try the Onkyo Remote 3 App (for iOS) and thats when the disappointment set in. I wanted to be able to listen and control the recvr from outside (Zone2). After listening for a while (sometimes 15 min-1hr or more) to Pandora (from the recvr app) or Pandora/Airplay from iOS device (multiple devices by the way) the remote app can no longer find the recvr. The music will continue to play so I know that the recvr is still connected to wi-fi, but I have no way of controlling it unless I go inside the house and use the Onkyo recvr remote control. The only way to get the app to find it again is to reboot the recvr (unplug) OR reboot my wireless router and then the remote finds it again right away and I will repeat the process again in another 15-60 min or so. I updated the FW, assigned static IP to the recvr and the same results. Called Onkyo support (took forever to get through) and was basically told "never heard of that happening so freq, once every other week maybe" and then said "I would exchange it if I were you." Called Crutchfield (which is great) and they basically said the same thing and sent me a new recvr which has the same exact issue. So, now I am in the process reviewing other receivers and am paying special attention to "app" reviews. If you want freedom to control your recvr from outside then look for another brand.

Apple Watch support, please!

Works great on my 8140. I would love to see some sort of support for the Apple Watch for quick volume or track changes.

I am a professional installer who had been installing Onkyo receivers for years. Its a great choice, Big Bang for your buck. I use this app daily and I show customers how to use it all the time. I find it very easy to use and switching through zones and music is quick and simple. I highly recommend this product!

Reset receiver and can connect again.

Recently could not connect to receiver. Called the number from the Onkyo forum: Please contact our Product Support Dept for further assistance with this specific issue via our phone number and hours of operation (800-229-1687; option #3 PRODUCT SUPPORT 24 hours a day). We would assist and answer any questions or concerns you may have with your Onkyo product Press and hold CBL/SAT button and tap power on front of TX-NR838. This is a factory reset so I lost all my settings. Was stuck on Searching for device. Checked network connection on the receiver and it showed an IP address but hung when checking the connection. I think 1.4.2 may have introduced connection issues. Had been pretty consistent in connecting to TX-NR838 until the update. Zero stars. Cannot connect to receiver. Simply app is broken.

Great app!

I wish it would always stay connected when you open it back up. Very nice. Stay patient with this app, once its working you will use it. Better than the actual remote.

Failed connection

It was working fine for about a month with onkyo 2016 receiver . Failed connections even after the receiver went thru hard reset. Pls listen to customers before they start loosing business.

Bad app

The first time you open up application and use it works great. But then when you try to reopen the app and turn up the volume to what your listening to when a song you like comes on it has to reconnect to the receiver and it crashes and has to be shut off and reopened. It also stops your streaming music at the same time very frustrating.

Horrible; wont connect & crashes

Constantly crashes and, after recent update, wont even connect to my phone. App no longer shows Spotify as an option either, so whats the point? Fix this.

Volume failure

The volume will be always set to 0 when I change a song, thats so annoying what makes this App useless to me. The same s**t as for the Onkyo app Remote 2. Why isnt Onkyo able to fix that problem which exists for several month now.

Option to Auto Start / Peek and pop

There should be an option to automatically start the receiver when starting the app with a predefined channel. Furthermore Peek and pop should be integrated in order to start the last used OR predefined channels from the start screen without opening the App.

Nice tool but...

...functional it could be proved by: allow screen turning, iPad version, add add pure music button, allow to manipulate receivers general setting / access receivers setup without turning on TV... Other than that named above: functions properly.
